Moving homes can be a stressful and time-consuming process. However, advancements in technology have revolutionized one aspect of the way we approach removals. This innovation is the use of video surveys, allowing homeowners and Hadley & Ottaway to conduct virtual assessments of properties.
Traditionally, when planning a house removal, a surveyor from Hadley & Ottaway would visit the property to evaluate the size, contents, and logistics involved in the move. However, with video surveys, homeowners can simply use their smartphones or other devices to record a virtual tour of their property, eliminating the need for an in-person visit. Don’t worry though this is just an option, we still offer our in person surveys at no cost, so the choice is yours.
If you opt for the video survey, it can be done via your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop and one of our friendly and knowledgeable surveyors will be connected to you throughout the process.
Darren Goldsmith surveyor at Hadley & Ottaway commented “Since we started using this technology it has been really useful for those making long distance moves, including recently clients moving from London to Cambridge and Scotland to Bury St Edmunds. On both occasions there were specific items that we picked up during the video survey which needed specialist packing so this tool was invaluable”.
Video surveys help provide Hadley & Ottaway with accurate and detailed information about your property, allowing for better planning and organization of the move. Homeowners with guidance from our surveyors provide a comprehensive tour of their space, highlighting specific areas of concern, such as fragile items or unique furniture. This level of detail enables us to prepare an accurate quotation and ensures the right equipment, correct size vehicles, packaging, and manpower are allocated for a smooth relocation with no nasty surprises.
David Galer Managing Director commented “As we embrace the digital age, it is clear that video surveys are here to stay, revolutionizing the way we approach house removals and making the entire process even more efficient and stress-free for our customers”.
It’s worth stressing that whenever possible we believe a survey should ideally be done in person, however a remote survey is always a good tool when this is not possible.
